The WOMEN’S TEAM TENNIS CAMP at the University of California, Davis in 2015 is a unique chance for groups of girls to get together for a great week of tennis, physical training and bonding prior to the High School season beginning. We are offering one week of team camp for girls, aged 13-18, on July 22-25, 2015. The camp provides a great learning and bonding experience as well as ample opportunity for practice and match play.
The format for the camp will revolve around competition, the most necessary ingredient for improvement. In addition to the large amount of match play, there will also be clinics on correct Tennis Fundamentals and Conditioning. Also included will be seminars on Injury Prevention and Stretching, as well as Strength Training that will help each player get the very most out of their athletic ability. Lastly, each group will be able to have an individually coached seminar with UC Davis Head Men’s Coach, Eric Steidlmayer or Head Women’s Coach Bill Maze.
The camp will be a Round Robin Group Event followed by a final match for the teams with the most points accumulated during the week. Every team match involves three singles and three doubles matches, each scored with an eight game proset. A minimum of six players is needed to play a dual match. We recommend having six or seven players on a team, although there can be as many as nine. The winner of each team match will be the team that wins the most games totaled. Each team attending camp will play a minimum of 5 matches with a maximum possibility of 7 matches.
