Erin Thorpe Head Coach
Erin Thorpe, who posted 30-win seasons three times since 2011 as Boise State's first-ever softball coach, has been named the seventh head softball coach in the history of UC Davis' program and enters her second season at the helm of Aggie softball.
Thorpe joins the Aggies after compiling an overall record of 173-150-1, including an impressive 53-15 (.779) home record over the past four seasons. Overall, her teams were 73-34 (.682) at home. Additionally, the Broncos twice finished in second place during the Western Athletic Conference regular season and were third in the WAC Tournament in just their second year. They have been members of the Mountain West Conference the past three seasons.
Amy Klyse Assistant Coach
Sacramento native, and former South Dakota head coach Amy Klyse, returned home when she joined UC Davis' softball's coaching staff in August, 2016.
Throughout her 10 years at the helm of South Dakota softball, Klyse successfully led her program’s transition to the Division I level, collected 211 victories and earned a birth in the Summit League Tournament every season following her team’s jump from Division II competition.
Gina Carbonatto Assistant Coach
UC Davis head coach Erin Thorpe completed her staff when she hired former Pacific softball standout Gina Carbonatto to her staff in August, 2016.
One of the most decorated alumni in Pacific's history, Carbonatto returned to her alma mater in 2015 for her second coaching stint in Stockton. Throughout her two-year tenure as the Tigers' top assistant, the West Coast Conference bestowed 10 all-conference awards to Carbonatto's players.
